Job summary

Reevr in Milton Keynes is seeking a Buyer for a 12-month maternity cover to develop the supplier base, drive cost savings and support Engineering, Manufacturing and Quality.

You will lead supplier selection, negotiations and performance management, and work with cross-functional teams on new components while travelling to suppliers in the UK and abroad. This role is an immediate start with potential to become permanent for the right candidate.

Qualifications

• Experience in Purchasing/Buying within manufacturing/engineering environments.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Track record of delivering against cost, quality and delivery objectives.

Responsibilities

• Manage and develop a competitive, reliable supplier base.
• Lead supplier selection, enquiries and negotiations.
• Drive cost reduction and total cost optimisation initiatives.
• Manage supplier performance across cost, quality, delivery and risk.
• Analyse supplier capacity and lead times to protect production requirements.
• Build strong relationships with suppliers and resolve supply issues.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Design, Manufacturing and Quality on new components/technologies.
• Support continuous improvement across purchasing processes.
