Job summary

Sulzer GT Aero Services Ltd. is seeking a skilled Buyer to procure goods and services for our aerospace-focused operations. You will negotiate with suppliers, manage contracts, and ensure timely delivery while upholding cost and quality standards.

In this role you will collaborate with engineering, production and quality teams to align material requirements with production schedules and compliance. A strong background in procurement practices and ERP platforms is essential.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years in purchasing/procurement, ideally aerospace/manufacturing.
• Strong negotiation and supplier-relationship skills.
• Analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Experience with ERP systems (SAP/Oracle) and MS Office.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
• Knowledge of purchasing best practices and supply chain management.

Responsibilities

• Identify and evaluate potential suppliers, negotiate contracts and build vendor relationships.
• Prepare and process purchase orders with accuracy and policy alignment.
• Monitor inventory levels and forecast material needs to prevent stockouts.
• Collaborate with engineering, production and quality teams to define material specs.
• Resolve supplier issues including quality, late deliveries, and invoices.
• Analyze market trends and supplier performance for cost savings.
• Maintain purchasing records and generate reports as required.
• Ensure procurement activities comply with regulations and ethics.
• Support cross-functional teams on new product development and improvements.
