Job summary

Eurofins Scientific is an international life sciences company delivering analytical testing services across multiple industries. The role focuses on providing purchasing services to UK Eurofins businesses within a centralised department, delivering cost and service improvements.

The candidate will manage supplier relationships, conduct negotiations, analyse spend data, and drive category strategies while ensuring adherence to policies and delivering value to labs and stakeholders in a hybrid UK

Qualifications

• Experience of working in a strategic purchasing role.
• Strong analytical, commercial, and problem-solving skills with experience evaluating options, managing risk, and delivering measurable business outcomes.
• High energy, ‘can-do’ attitude with drive to deliver successful project outcomes and overcome challenges.
• Demonstrated project management capability, including planning, prioritisation, governance, stakeholder engagement, and delivery to agreed timelines.
• Effective communication skills (verbal and written) with the ability to engage, collaborate and influence.

Responsibilities

• Deliver purchasing projects which ensure value is added in terms of cost, quality, delivery and service.
• Analyse spend data and formulate a purchasing category strategy for specific projects.
• Plans are to include, but are not limited to: market and supplier analysis; defining and approving purchasing strategy; executing through tender and benchmarking exercises; contract formulation and award.
• Conducting regular supplier contract negotiations and supplier performance reviews
• Implement the category strategy plans to achieve planned outcomes and in a way that meets the local and Group business needs.
• Deliver a professional and efficient Purchasing service to the labs and managing key stakeholders internally and suppliers externally.
• Liaise with internal departments to ensure an excellent level of service is provided whilst ensuring adherence to purchasing policies and procedures.
• Obtain significant cost savings on defined scope of consumables, equipment and services for Eurofins companies with increasing level of product quality, service and delivery.
• Drive standardization and rationalization of the product and supplier base, in close conjunction with your internal clients.
• Manage relationships with suppliers to negotiate the best contract conditions.
• Carry out site visits to review Purchasing Activity with business stakeholders as required.
• Carry out any other tasks as may be deemed necessary by the line manager.

Job Description

Unfortunately we are unable to offer sponsorship for this role. Hybrid role. 37.5 Hours per week. Monday - Friday. 08:30 - 16:00.

Purpose of the post:

To provide purchasing services to the UK Eurofins businesses as part of a centralised purchasing department, within the scopes of operational excellence for all UK entities.

Qualifications

• Customer and business-focused mindset, ensuring project objectives remain aligned to organisational priorities and operational needs.
• Experience managing internal and external stakeholder relationships, including suppliers, and senior leadership teams.
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects, workstreams, and competing priorities simultaneously.
• Good knowledge of purchasing systems and procedures.
• Experience with Coupa (preferable but not essential) or other purchasing systems (e.g.SAP).
• IT literacy with working knowledge of Microsoft office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and PowerBi.
• CIPS qualifications preferable but not essential.
• Full clean driving licence and car owner.
