Job summary

Heriot-Watt University invites applications for up to three Business Analyst positions within the Global Project Management Office. The roles focus on delivering business analysis across strategic and operational change, working with stakeholders to define requirements and ensure outcomes align with university objectives.

These are full-time, 35 hours per week, open-ended appointments at Grade 7, with a salary range £38,448 to £48,337 per annum.

Qualifications

• Degree qualification or equivalent experience.
• Experience providing business analysis within complex change environments.
• Experience of requirements elicitation, analysis and management.
• Experience of process analysis, improvement and solution design.
• Experience influencing stakeholders at multiple levels.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft 365 applications and collaboration tools.
• Experience of business analysis, process modelling and project delivery tools such as Visio, Jira, Confluence, Miro, Power BI.

Responsibilities

• Lead business analysis across strategic and operational initiatives.
• Elicit requirements, facilitate workshops and engage stakeholders.
• Produce artefacts like requirements docs, process maps and user stories.
• Advise on requirements prioritisation balancing objectives, risks and resources.
• Support design and delivery of changed processes delivering measurable benefits.
• Collaborate with project managers and technical teams.
• Support testing, implementation and post-implementation reviews.
• Identify, define and measure benefits arising from change.
• Contribute to post-implementation evaluation and learning.
