National Grid is seeking an Asset Group Strategy Manager to lead a newly formed function within Asset Management, shaping long-term investment plans for the electricity transmission network. You will drive evidence-based decisions across multiple asset groups and collaborate with Engineering and Operations to deliver strategic outcomes.

The role requires senior leadership, a strong background in asset management, and expertise in regulatory submissions and risk-based investment.

Qualifications

Significant experience in asset management, asset strategy or investment planning within asset-intensive sectors.
Strong understanding of risk-based asset management and whole-life cost / value optimisation for investment decisions.
Experience developing business cases or regulatory submissions to secure major asset funding.

Responsibilities

Lead development of long-term asset group strategies driving investment decisions.
Build and lead a multidisciplinary team of asset managers and analysts.
Develop risk- and value-based investment portfolios balancing performance, risk and customer value.
Use asset data and lifecycle insights to prioritise investment across asset groups.
Deploy cost modelling, cost-benefit analysis and appraisal methods for evidence-based decisions.
Own long-term asset intervention priorities reflecting emerging risks and changing needs.
Prepare investment business cases and regulatory submissions with clear value justification.
Engage senior stakeholders across Asset Management, Engineering and Operations.
