Job summary

Calibre8 Recruitment is helping a leading UK distributor recruit a Stores Supervisor for the Fluid Power, Hydraulic & Pneumatic sector. You will supervise a small team, manage goods in, deliveries, packing and the trade counter, ensuring accurate inventories and smooth daily operations.

The role involves hydraulic hose assembly training, problem solving for customer issues, and maintaining high standards across 3 store staff. A strong hydraulics/pneumatics background is desirable.

Qualifications

• Experience with hydraulics and pneumatics is preferred.
• Ability to supervise and develop a small store team.
• Experience in parts handling, stock control and trade counter duties.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage 3 store staff, oversee goods in/out and inventories.
• Support trade counter duties and assist customers with hydraulic components.
• Assist in hose assembly training and ensure stores run smoothly.
• Train and coach staff given long tenure and product knowledge within the branch.

Stores Supervisor - Fluid Power, Hydraulics & Pneumatics

• £35K Basic Salary

The role:

• As the Stores Supervisor you will be reporting into the Branch Manager and looking after 3 staff in the stores who manage the goods in, deliveries, packing, trade counter, inventories etc
• You will also help on the trade counter, get involved in assembling Hydraulic Hoses, sorting customer issues, making sure the stores are running smoothly etc...
• All staff have been with the business 10 + years so will have good knowledge of how the business runs and the products
• The branch is involved in selling Hydraulics 40% and Pneumatics 60% - mainly components such as Valves, Cylinders, Couplings, Tubes, Hoses, Fittings etc
• The branch deals with some OEMs & End Users as well as a lot of MRO End Users
• There will be training on Hose Assemblies from different manufacturers as well as general training

The ideal person:

• Ideally someone with experience of Hydraulics and Pneumatics or at least 1 of the 2
• MUST have some fluid power knowledge
• They will consider without stores management/supervisory experience, maybe someone who has been a service engineer or mobile service engineer for Hydraulic Hoses or someone who has worked in the stores and looking to take a step up
• Hard working, driven, self motivated, good people person, able to hit the ground running
