Job summary

Company Materials Solutions Limited in Worcestershire is looking for a Stores Person to help keep our manufacturing operations supplied and running smoothly. You will manage material flow from receiving to dispatch, maintaining stock records and supporting warehouse systems with a strong focus on accuracy and safety.

You will handle stock movements, pack orders for dispatch, and participate in regular stock takes.

Qualifications

• Experience in a stores, warehouse, logistics or materials-handling environment.
• Valid forklift licence and safe manual-handling practices.
• Strong attention to detail with accurate stock, inventory or materials records.
• Comfortable using computer-based warehouse or inventory systems.
• Good communication and teamwork across the organisation.
• Proactive, flexible and able to work independently with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Receive incoming goods, check quantities and documentation, identify discrepancies and store materials safely.
• Pick stock against BOMs and record materials issued accurately.
• Pack products for dispatch and raise dispatch documentation.
• Maintain accurate inventory and warehouse records, support regular stock takes.
• Operate warehouse equipment and follow safety requirements.
• Maintain high housekeeping standards and support continuous improvement across Stores.

A Snapshot of Your Day

As a Stores Person, you will play an important part in keeping our manufacturing operations supplied and running efficiently. You will manage the movement of materials and components through the Stores area, from receiving and checking incoming goods through to picking, packing and preparing products for dispatch. You will maintain accurate stock records and locations, work with warehouse systems and ensure materials are available when required. This is a practical, hands-on role where attention to detail, safety and accuracy are essential.

How You’ll Make an Impact

• Receive incoming goods, check quantities and documentation, identify discrepancies and ensure materials are stored safely in the correct locations.
• Pick stock against Bills of Materials (BOMs), accurately record materials issued and ensure stock movements and allocations are correctly maintained.
• Pack products for dispatch to customers and subcontractors, raise dispatch documentation and organise courier collections.
• Maintain accurate inventory and warehouse records, updating company systems as required and supporting regular stock takes and inventory checks.
• Safely operate appropriate materials-handling equipment and support the movement of goods throughout the Stores area, following manual-handling and Health & Safety requirements.
• Maintain high standards of housekeeping, quality and organisation while supporting continuous improvement across Stores and warehouse operations.

What You Bring

• Previous experience working within a Stores, warehouse, logistics or materials-handling environment.
• A valid forklift licence, with a good understanding of safe manual-handling practices and the ability to safely handle items weighing up to 25kg.
• Strong attention to detail and experience maintaining accurate stock, inventory or materials records.
• Comfortable using computer-based warehouse or inventory systems.
• Good communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues across different areas of the organisation.
• A proactive and flexible approach, with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision following training while maintaining high standards of safety and quality.
