Job summary

The Best Connection in the United Kingdom is seeking a Stores Person to assist with goods receiving, safe storage and issuing materials to operatives in a busy warehouse.

You will learn on the job, with previous stores experience advantageous. Operating a forklift (B1) is ideal but not essential, and you will contribute to stock accuracy, housekeeping and safe working practices daily.

Qualifications

• Willingness to learn new skills.
• Previous stores experience is advantageous.
• Ability to operate forklift (B1) desirable.

Responsibilities

• Receive and check goods on delivery.
• Off-load vehicles using handling equipment.
• Organise, sort and manage stock levels.
• Maintain stock records and stock takes.
• Supply materials to general operatives as required.
• Ensure safe storage of goods.
• General stores duties and keep workspace tidy.

Job description

Company benefits, sociable hours + 25 days holiday plus bank holidays and overtime paid at time and a half.

Purpose

To assist with the goods receiving, safe storage and issue of materials to operatives.

YOU PROBABLY WANT TO KNOW WHATS INVOLVED

• Receipt of and checking goods in, ensuring delivered in good condition
• Off load vehicles using mechanical handling equipment
• Organise, sort and manage stock levels
• Maintain stock records and stock take
• Operate B1 Forklift -(Certificate ideal but not essential)
• Supply materials to General Operatives as required
• Ensure goods are stored in a safe and acceptable manner
• General stores duties including maintaining a clean and tidy workplace

WHAT EXPERIENCE WE NEED FROM YOU

• A willingness to learn new skills
• Previous stores experience is an advantage
