Job summary

The Best Connection is seeking a Stores Person in the United Kingdom to assist with goods receiving, storage and issue of materials to operatives. The role involves unloading goods with mechanical handling equipment, organizing stock, and maintaining records. Forklift operation is required; training available if needed.

Hours are 40 per week, Monday to Friday, with overtime paid at time and a half and 25 days holiday plus bank holidays. A positive attitude and willingness to learn are essential.

Qualifications

• Previous stores experience is advantageous.
• Able to operate a forklift.
• Willingness to learn new skills and adapt.
• Reliable and punctual.

Responsibilities

• Receive and check goods in and ensure condition.
• Unload vehicles using mechanical handling equipment.
• Organise, sort and manage stock levels.
• Chase late deliveries and missing goods.
• Maintain stock records and conduct stock takes.
• Supply materials to operatives as required.
• Ensure safe storage and a tidy workplace.
• General stores duties.

Hours: Monday to Friday, 40-hour week. Salary: £13.24p/h Company benefits, sociable hours + 25 days holiday plus bank holidays and overtime paid at time and a half.

PURPOSE

To assist with the goods receiving, safe storage and issue of materials to operatives.

YOU PROBABLY WANT TO KNOW WHATS INVOLVED

• Receipt of and checking goods in, ensuring delivered in good condition
• Off load vehicles using mechanical handling equipment
• Organise, sort and manage stock levels
• Chase late delivery/missing goods
• Maintain stock records and stock take
• Operate B1 Forklift - (Certificate ideal but not essential)
• Supply materials to General Operatives as required
• Ensure goods are stored in a safe and acceptable manner
• General stores duties including maintaining a clean and tidy workplace
