Job summary

SCL is recruiting an organised Stores Person to support the Estates Stores at Darlington Memorial Hospital. You will manage stock, process deliveries, and ensure materials are available for engineering and maintenance teams.

In this role you will oversee day-to-day stores operations, maintain records for deliveries, service reports, and COSHH, and assist calibration and site meter readings while liaising with staff and contractors to deliver a responsive service.

Qualifications

• Experience with stock control and inventory systems.
• Ability to process orders and deliveries accurately.
• Familiarity with COSHH procedures and calibration processes.

Responsibilities

• Manage stock and non-stock items for Estates stores.
• Maintain accurate inventory records and delivery notes.
• Receive and check deliveries, store materials safely.
• Process orders through the Cardea system for engineers.
• Maintain documentation including service reports and COSHH records.
• Support calibration and certification activities as required.
• Take meter readings across the site and liaise with Estates team.

Job description

The Estates Department is looking to recruit an organised and motivated Stores Person to support the effective delivery of maintenance services across Darlington Memorial Hospital. The postholder will be responsible for managing stock and non-stock items, maintaining accurate inventory records, receiving and checking deliveries, and ensuring materials are available to support engineering and maintenance teams. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong organisational skills, a customer-focused approach and an interest in supporting essential services within a busy healthcare environment., The successful candidate will oversee the day-to-day operation of the Estates stores, maintaining stock levels, processing orders through the Cardea system, receiving and checking deliveries, and ensuring materials are stored safely and securely. They will maintain documentation including delivery notes, service reports and COSHH records, support calibration and certification processes, undertake meter readings across the site and assist the wider Estates team as required. The role involves regular communication with maintenance staff, contractors and customers to ensure an efficient and responsive service is delivered..
