Job description

Job Title: Stores Person

Location: Newcastle upon Tyne, England, North East

Type: Temporary

Kinetic Recruitment is currently sourcing a Stores Person to support the warehouse operations at our client's busy site in Heaton. This is an ongoing temporary role, working dayshift from Monday to Friday, 37 hours per week.

Responsibilities:

1. Accept incoming goods and verify them against shipping documents (material number, description, quantity).
2. Inspect incoming goods for visible damage.
3. Present goods for formal inspection when required and provide necessary information.
4. Use appropriate transport equipment (hand-guided industrial trucks, forklift, etc.) and wear PPE as provided.
5. Record all relevant data in the company's data processing systems.
6. Store accepted goods in correct locations and record stock movements accurately.
7. Assemble deliveries (internal & external) from storage locations, review for completeness and accuracy, and record these movements.
8. Conduct regular stock maintenance and inventory checks.
9. Attach shipping documents to outgoing goods.
10. Transport goods within and outside the premises using appropriate means.
11. Notify the purchasing department of low stock levels, missing, or damaged parts to prevent delays.
12. Promote continuous improvement within the department.

Skills and Experience:

• Relevant qualifications in material control.
• Fork-lift truck license and experience.
• Driving license for vehicles up to 7.5 tonnes gross weight.
• Experience in warehousing or material control environments.
• Experience with SAP and MRP systems (advantages).
• Proficiency in Word and Excel.
• Experience in setting up storage facilities.
