Job summary

Vishay in Newport is seeking a Stores Operator to join the busy stores and warehouse team. The role covers a mix of warehouse activities and desk-based tasks with a strong focus on accuracy and customer service.

You will issue consumables and spare parts for manufacturing, perform cycle counts, support 6S initiatives and handle goods receipt and storage. Prior SAP/Office exposure is helpful; forklift training can be arranged.

Qualifications

• Experience using Microsoft Office applications, SAP, Teams or SharePoint would be advantageous; training will be provided.
• Good attention to detail and organisational skills.
• Able to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Issuing consumables and spare parts to support manufacturing.
• Carry out cycle counts to ensure stock accuracy.

Stores Operator - Days
Vishay, Newport
Pay: £25,778 per annum (£12.71 per hour)
Hours: 39 hours per week
Contract: Ongoing rolling contract

Manpower is recruiting on behalf of Vishay in Newport for a Stores Operator to join their busy stores and warehouse team. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated and reliable individual who enjoys a varied working day and takes pride in delivering high standards of accuracy and customer service.

Working as part of a supportive team, you will play a key role in ensuring materials, consumables and spare parts are available to support manufacturing operations. The role offers a mix of warehouse activities and desk-based tasks, making it ideal for someone who enjoys variety and can adapt to changing priorities throughout the day.

Key responsibilities

• supporting manufacturing and repair & maintenance teams by issuing consumables and spare parts
• carrying out cycle counts to ensure stock accuracy
• assisting with continuous improvement and 6S activities within the stores areas
• unloading, checking, receipting and storing incoming goods

The successful candidate will have strong attention to detail, good organisational skills and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team. You will be comfortable interacting with both internal and external customers and have a positive, can-do attitude. Previous experience using Microsoft Office applications, SAP, Teams or SharePoint would be advantageous, although full training will be provided. A Counterbalance Forklift Truck Licence would also be beneficial, but training and testing can be arranged for the right candidate.

Some tasks involve manual handling and physical activity, so candidates should be comfortable working in a warehouse environment.
