Job summary

E3 Recruitment is seeking a Stores Operator in Huddersfield to join a long-established engineering organisation. The role involves picking, packing and dispatching orders, supplying parts to production lines, and preparing export shipments.

You will manage stock, perform regular inventory checks, and operate VNA/Counterbalance forklifts in a clean, safe stores environment. Hours are 37.5 per week on rotating AM/PM shifts.

Qualifications

• Previous warehouse or stores experience, ideally within a manufacturing or engineering environment.
• Strong stock control and goods-in experience with good attention to detail.
• Good computer literacy and the ability to work with stock management systems.
• Valid Counterbalance and/or VNA forklift truck licences, with practical operating experience.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Supply parts from stores to support hose assembly production.
• Prepare and pack export shipments for global distributors and self-assembly customers.
• Issue stock and materials to internal departments in line with production requirements.
• Carry out regular stock checks to maintain accurate inventory records.
• Operate VNA and Counterbalance Forklift Trucks safely, while maintaining a clean, safe and organised stores environment.

This Huddersfield based employer is easily commutable from surrounding towns & cities including Bradford, Halifax, Wakefield, Leeds, Oldham, Castleford and Pontefract.

Key Responsibilities of the Stores Operator.

Working Hours of the Stores Operator.

37.5 Hours per week rotating over AM & PM shifts:

AM Shift - Monday to Thursday 6AM to 2PM / Friday 6AM to 11:30AM

PM Shift - Monday to Thursday 2PM to 10PM / Friday 11:30AM to 5PM

In Return, the Stores Operator will receive:

• Basic Salary: Up to £28,850.25 per annum (inclusive of shift allowance)
