Job summary

Mansell Recruitment Group is seeking an experienced Storekeeper for an established engineering and manufacturing business. This hands-on stores role covers receiving, checking, picking and issuing components, while maintaining accurate stock records and a tidy stores area.

The ideal candidate will have proven experience in stores, familiarity with stock control systems, and strong numerical/data-entry skills. Forklift training can be provided where needed.

Qualifications

• Experience in an engineering or manufacturing stores environment.
• Familiar with computerised stock control or booking systems.
• Good numerical and data-entry skills.
• Strong organisational and time-management skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and proactive problem solving.
• Ability to work independently and in a team; training available for fork equipment.

Responsibilities

This is a hands‑on stores role within an engineering environment, responsible for receiving, checking, picking and issuing components, maintaining accurate stock records and ensuring the stores area is kept organised and efficient.

The Role

• Managing deliveries into the stores, booking in incoming parts and checking goods received for quality.
• Picking components and parts required for machinery and production.
• Maintaining accurate stock levels and locating parts efficiently.
• Booking parts in and out of the stores system.
• Identifying and reporting stock discrepancies and shortages.
• Updating computerised stock records as parts are received and issued.
• Maintaining high standards of housekeeping and organisation within the stores.
• Providing a professional and helpful service to colleagues across the business.
• Carrying out other reasonable duties as required by the line manager.

About You

• Previous experience working within an engineering or manufacturing stores environment.
• Experience using computerised stock control or booking systems.
• Good numerical and data-entry skills.
• Strong organisational and time-management skills.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• A proactive approach with good problem-solving ability.
• The ability to work independently as well as effectively within a team.
• A forklift licence would be advantageous, although training can be provided.
• Experience using a pallet stacker would be beneficial, with training provided.
