Job summary

Pertemps Northampton is recruiting a Stores Operative to support spare parts and warehouse operations in Kettering. The role covers stock control, order processing, and coordination with accounts and suppliers.

You will work Monday to Friday, 08:30–16:30, at £13.21 per hour (DOE). A forklift license and GCSE/A Level education are expected, with fluent English and good IT skills.

Qualifications

• GCSE/A Level education required.
• Forklift Truck Driving License essential.
• Experience in stock control or warehouse operations.
• Proficient IT skills with order processing and databases.
• Fluent written and spoken English.

Responsibilities

• Receive, book in, and maintain stock using SERVICE GEENI and SICON.
• Pick, pack, and despatch spare parts (UK & international) with records.
• Manage project spares for installation teams.
• Liaise with accounts, project purchasing, suppliers and third‑party storage.
• Handle warranty returns and supplier repairs.
• Conduct weekly and quarterly inventory audits.
• Expedite overdue or priority parts.
• Produce reports and maintain audit trails.
• Support warehouse KPIs, audits and admin tasks.
• Follow health and safety procedures.
• Provide 24‑hour response for spare parts at external storage.

We\'re looking for a Spares Stores Operative to play a key role in managing spare parts, supporting projects, and ensuring smooth warehouse operations in Kettering.

What You\'ll Be Doing

No two days are the same. Your responsibilities will include:

• Receiving, booking in, and maintaining stock using SERVICE GEENI and SICON systems
• Picking, packing, and despatching spare parts (UK & international), including photographic records
• Managing project spares for installation teams
• Liaising with accounts, project purchasing, suppliers, and third-party storage providers
• Controlling warranty returns and supplier repairs
• Carrying out weekly and quarterly inventory audits
• Expediting overdue or priority parts
• Producing reports and maintaining a clear audit trail
• Supporting warehouse KPIs, audits, and general administration
• Following all health & safety procedures
• You\'ll also provide a 24-hour response for spare parts held at the external storage facility.

What We\'re Looking For

This role has no direct reports, but you\'ll be a vital link across multiple teams.
