Job summary

Windracers Ltd in the United Kingdom is seeking an experienced Stores Operative with a manufacturing background to support our growing production and logistics operations.

You will receive, inspect, and store goods, process receipts, label stock, pick items to order, and maintain accurate stock records using ERP/MRP systems; the role emphasises safe, clean stores and compliance with manual handling guidelines.

Qualifications

• Experience as Stores Operative in a manufacturing environment.
• Basic computer literacy and numeracy.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel for data tables.
• Experience with ERP/MRP systems to transact inventory movements.

Responsibilities

• Receive, inspect, and store incoming goods via Goods Inwards.
• Process goods receipt documentation and booking in issues.
• Label, store and protect stock from contamination/damage.
• Pick stock to fulfil work orders with high accuracy.
• Move and organise stock in stores area following safety guidelines.
• Maintain clean, safe stores area and stock locations.
• Support waste management for packaging.
• Report stock discrepancies to the Logistics Manager.
• Undertake other duties as required by Head of Unit.

Job description

Windracers are looking to welcome a new role into our team to support our ever-increasing manufacturing growth. We are looking for an experienced stores person with a background in manufacturing to join the team as our business scales up.

Key Responsibilities:

• Receive, inspect, and store incoming goods accurately/efficiently via Goods Inwards process.
• Process all goods receipt documentation including scanning; deal with booking in problems with purchasing and ensure nonstock orders are delivered to individuals.
• Ensure that all stock is stored correctly and is labelled and packed appropriately to ensure it is easily identifiable and free of contamination/damage.
• Pick work orders in relation to picking lists, ensuring excellent levels of accuracy.
• Perform general physical activities in stores area such as loading, unloading, sorting, cleaning and stock movements.
• Follow manual handling guidelines for physical stock movements ensuring appropriate lifting equipment is used where appropriate.
• Ensure that the stores area and yard is organised, clean, safe and stock is located appropriately.
• Support the processing of waste management for all packaging.
• Maintain high levels of stock accuracy and report any stock discrepancies to the Logistics Manager.
• To undertake any other duties as appropriate within their competence, as required by their Head of Unit from time to time.

Essential skills

• Proven experience as a Stores Operative in a manufacturing environment.
• Basic computer literacy and numeracy skills.
• Basic Microsoft Excel to find and update information in data tables.
• ERP/MRP systems to transact inventory movements.

Desirable skills

• Forklift licence is desirable but not essential.
• Experience in Goods-In Quality inspection.
