Job summary

Windracers Ltd in Fareham is seeking a Stores Operative to support growing manufacturing activity. You will receive, inspect and store goods, process receipts and bookings, and ensure stock is correctly labelled and stored to prevent contamination.

You will pick items against orders with high accuracy, assist with loading/unloading, follow manual handling rules, and help maintain a clean, safe stores area. ERP/MRP experience and basic Excel skills are desirable.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Stores Operative in a manufacturing environment.
• Basic computing and numeracy skills required.
• Basic MS Excel skills to update information in data tables.
• ERP/MRP systems experience to transact inventory movements.

Responsibilities

• Receive, inspect and store incoming goods accurately via Goods Inwards process.
• Process all goods receipt documentation including scanning; deal with booking in problems with purchasing and ensure nonstock orders are delivered to individuals.
• Ensure that all stock is stored correctly and is labelled and packed appropriately to ensure it is easily identifiable and free of contamination/damage.
• Pick work orders in relation to picking lists, ensuring excellent levels of accuracy.
• Perform general physical activities in stores area such as loading, unloading, sorting, cleaning and stock movements.
• Follow manual handling guidelines for physical stock movements ensuring appropriate lifting equipment is used where appropriate.
• Ensure that the stores area and yard is organised, clean, safe and stock is located appropriately.
• Support the processing of waste management for all packaging.
• Maintain high levels of stock accuracy and report any stock discrepancies to the Logistics Manager.
• To undertake any other duties as appropriate within their competence, as required by their Head of Unit from time to time.
