Job summary

Government Facility Services Ltd is seeking a Stores Operative for HMP Bure in Norfolk. The role supports the Facilities Maintenance Team, handling stores and coordinating with trades to maintain a safe, efficient prison environment.

You will work Monday to Friday, contributing to a secure operation and the wider rehabilitative mission. The position offers a structured team setting and opportunities to develop skills in a critical public sector facility.

Qualifications

• Fork Lift Truck Certificate (required).
• Level 2 English and Maths (required).
• Full driving licence preferable with D1 (desirable).
• HGV Licence (required).
• First Aid at Work Qualification (required).
• Good Health & Safety knowledge (required).
• Excellent organisational, time management and people skills (required).

Responsibilities

• Operate and manage stores within HMP Bure to ensure secure, accurate stock handling and safe distribution.
• Collaborate with Plumbers, Electricians, Carpenters, Painters, Cleaners and Administrators to support prison facilities maintenance.
• Work Monday to Friday as part of a team, contributing to a safe, secure and rehabilitative environment.
• Assist in procurement, stock control, and movement of materials to and from the stores.

We are seeking a dedicated Stores Operative to join our team at HMP Bure, a Category C & Adult/Male prison.
