Recruit4Staff are pleased to be representing their client, a leading Manufacturer, in search of a Stores Manager to join their Stoke-on-Trent site. The role is days-based, 7:30am–5pm with a 12:30pm finish on Fridays, offering a salary up to £50,000.

You will lead a team of Stores/FLT Operatives, manage stock, liaise with Purchasing/Planning, and drive production-aligned material availability, with opportunities for career progression and a Christmas bonus.

Qualifications

• Stable background in manufacturing stores environment
• Strong man management skills
• Experience using warehouse systems/MRP/ERP
• Solid warehousing knowledge in manufacturing/engineering

Responsibilities

• Lead and motivate a team of Stores/FLT Operatives
• Allocate workload and monitor performance
• Report progress of projects regularly
• Hold daily team meetings
• Ensure materials are available in line with production schedule
• Manage inventory and stock records
• Investigate and resolve discrepancies
• Keep stock located in correct locations
• Liaise with Purchasing and Planning to secure materials
• Plan workloads to hit targets
• Monitor stock levels and flag shortages or issues
• Contribute to disciplinary procedures when required

For the successful Stores Manager our client is offering:

The Role - Stores Manager:

• Responsible for leading & motivating a team of Stores/FLT Operatives within a busy Manufacturing setting
• Allocating workload out to staff
• Reporting progress of projects on a regular basis
• Carrying out meetings with the team on a daily basis
• Ensuring materials are available in line with the Production schedule
• Managing inventory / stock records
• Investigate and resolve any discrepancies
• Ensuring stock is located in the correct locations
• Liaising with other areas of the Business (IE Purchasing / Planning) ensuring sufficient materials are available
• Planning the workload carefully ensuring the team are able to achieve targets
• Monitor stock levels and identify shortages or potential supply issues.
• Involved in relevant disciplinary procedures if necessary

• Demonstrate a proven background within Materials, Stores / Warehousing within Manufacturing/Engineering
• Experienced using systems within a Warehouse/Manufacturing Setting (MRP/ERP systems)
• Strong all round Warehousing knowledge
• Keen eye for Health & Safety
• Experience leading teams and achieving targets
• Able to communicate with various departments internally
