Job summary

Niche Recruitment Ltd in Witney is seeking a Stores & Logistics Lead to own the stores function and support growing production operations. You will manage stock control, inventory accuracy and the smooth movement of materials, while shaping systems to support future growth.

This on-site role offers a salary up to GBP40,000 depending on experience, plus 25 days’ annual leave, bank holidays, flexible hours, a flexible benefits scheme, your birthday off and free breakfast.

Qualifications

• Experience in stores or logistics within engineering or manufacturing environments.
• Strong understanding of component identification, stock traceability and materials handling.
• Confident with Excel and ERP/stock management software.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of day-to-day stores operations, ensuring materials are received, stored and issued accurately.
• Manage goods-in and goods-out activities, including delivery checks, shipping arrangements and courier coordination.
• Maintain accurate inventory records, stock levels and component traceability using Excel and ERP systems.
• Prepare and manage production kits to support manufacturing schedules.
• Investigate stock discrepancies and resolve shortages with procurement and production teams.
• Identify and implement improvements to stores procedures and stock control systems.

Based on‑site in Witney, Oxfordshire, this permanent, full‑time position offers a salary of up to GBP40,000 depending on experience, alongside 25 days' annual leave plus bank holidays, flexible working hours, a flexible benefits scheme, your birthday off and free breakfast. Key Responsibilities

• Take ownership of day‑to‑day stores operations, ensuring materials and components are accurately received, stored and issued.
• Manage goods‑in and goods‑out activities, including delivery checks, shipping arrangements and courier coordination.
• Maintain accurate inventory records, stock levels and component traceability using Excel and ERP systems.
• Prepare and manage production kits, ensuring the correct components are available to support manufacturing schedules.
• Investigate stock discrepancies, carry out regular stock checks and resolve material shortages alongside procurement and production teams.
• Identify and implement improvements to stores procedures, stock control systems and operational efficiency.

Skills & Experience

• Previous experience in stores, inventory management, stock control or logistics, ideally within an engineering or manufacturing environment.
• Strong understanding of component identification, part numbers, materials handling and stock traceability.
• Confident Microsoft Excel skills and experience using stock management, warehouse management or ERP systems.
• Practical experience managing goods‑in, goods‑out, stock checks and production kitting.
• Excellent organisational skills, attention to detail and the ability to work independently and proactively resolve issues.
• Strong communication and problem‑solving skills, with experience in aerospace, defence, motorsport or precision engineering environments advantageous.
