Job summary

Matchtech is seeking a Stores Operative on a contract basis to support Defence & Security operations in Havant. You will manage materials, stock control, and ensure accurate recording and safe storage.

Responsibilities include receiving, storing, issuing materials, conducting stock checks and keeping records precise, while maintaining health and safety standards. The role also offers professional development within a collaborative team and the chance to contribute to essential supply chain

Qualifications

• Experience in stores, materials management or stock control.
• Strong organisational and time management skills.
• Proficiency with inventory management systems.
• Excellent attention to detail and record-keeping accuracy.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Physically capable of handling and moving stock safely.
• Good communication skills.
• Knowledge of health and safety regulations related to stores management.

Responsibilities

• Receiving, checking and storing incoming materials and supplies
• Maintaining accurate inventory records and monitoring stock levels
• Issuing materials to relevant departments as required
• Conducting regular stock checks and reconciling discrepancies
• Keeping the stores area clean, organised and compliant with safety procedures
• Assisting with the loading and unloading of deliveries
• Communicating with internal departments to meet material requirements
