Job summary

Matchtech is seeking a Stores Operative to join its team on a contract basis. The role focuses on maintaining efficient stores operations, stock control, and ensuring supplies are recorded and stored safely.

You will handle receiving and checking materials, manage inventory records, issue items to departments, carry out stock checks, keep the stores area tidy and safe, assist with deliveries, and communicate requirements across teams using inventory systems.

Qualifications

• Experience in stores, materials management or stock control.
• Strong organisational and time management skills.
• Proficiency in using inventory management systems.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in record-keeping.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
• Physical capability to handle and move stock safely.
• Effective communication skills.
• Understanding of health and safety regulations relating to stores management.

Responsibilities

• Receiving, checking and storing incoming materials and supplies.
• Maintaining accurate inventory records and monitoring stock levels.
• Issuing materials to relevant departments as required.
• Conducting regular stock checks and reconciling discrepancies.
• Keeping the stores area clean, organised and compliant with safety procedures.
• Assisting with the loading and unloading of deliveries.
