Job summary

UKME is seeking a Stores Assistant (Permanent) to support deliveries and inventory across properties. You will load/unload, build and dismantle furniture, and ensure items are protected in transit.

The role requires a clean UK driving licence, familiarity with MS Office, and health and safety manual handling certification. You will join a team with shifts and on-call rotations to keep operations running smoothly.

Qualifications

• Experience in a similar role, particularly in building and dismantling items.
• Health and Safety manual handling certification.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel.
• Hold a full clean UK driving license.
• Knowledge of driving routes in Surrey, London, and Suffolk (Desirable).

Responsibilities

• Verify and sign for orders, checking against delivery dispatch notes.
• Load and unload vehicles with furniture, building materials, and other items.
• Ensure furniture is protected during transit and storage to prevent damage.
• Build and dismantle furniture as required.
• Consolidate stock lists and maintain inventory.
• Deliver furniture and building materials to various properties efficiently.
• Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the van, including daily emptying and regular vehicle checks.
• Submit all completed forms to the office at the end of each day.
• Provide cover for colleagues during absences.
• Adhere to all company policies, particularly health and safety regulations.
• Participate in shifts and on-call rotations.
• Any tasks or responsibilities as requested by management within the scope of the position.
