Job summary

Reed in the United Kingdom is seeking a dedicated Stores and Warehouse Operative to join our team in Four Marks, Alton, Hampshire. You will manage goods in, stores, and goods out, ensuring accurate stock records and the safe handling of materials.

Day to day duties include inspecting deliveries, organising stock locations, cycle counts, dispatch preparation, and ensuring compliance with health and safety procedures. Forklift experience is desirable, as are ERP/stock control system skills.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a stores, warehouse, logistics, or inventory role.
• Good attention to detail and accuracy.
• Basic computer literacy and experience using stock control systems.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Good organisational and communication skills.
• Forklift licence (desirable).
• Experience using ERP or warehouse management systems (desirable).
• Knowledge of stock control and inventory management principles (desirable).

Responsibilities

• Receive and inspect incoming deliveries against purchase orders and delivery notes.
• Check goods for damage, quantity, and quality discrepancies.
• Accurately record deliveries in inventory systems.
• Unload and safely store stock in designated locations.
• Report shortages, damages, or non-conforming materials.
• Organise and maintain stock locations for efficient storage and retrieval.
• Conduct regular stock checks and cycle counts.
• Maintain accurate inventory records and update stock management systems.
• Issue stock and materials to internal departments as required.
• Ensure stores areas are kept clean, organised, and safe.
• Pick, pack, and prepare customer or supplier orders for dispatch.
• Verify orders against documentation to ensure accuracy.
• Produce and maintain dispatch records.
• Arrange shipments with approved carriers where required.
• Load vehicles safely and in accordance with company procedures.
• Operate warehouse equipment safely and in accordance with training.
• Follow all health, safety, environmental, and quality procedures.
• Assist with continuous improvement activities within stores and logistics processes.
• Support other warehouse and operational activities as required.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
