Job summary

The Co-op Group in Kirkwall is seeking a Customer Team Leader to run a busy store, leading a small team on shift and working hands-on on the shop floor. You’ll motivate and coach your team to deliver great service, support daily operations, and help with merchandising, stock accuracy and HR processes while engaging with the local community.

This permanent part-time role is 25 hours per week with regular overtime and weekend shifts; a 18+ age requirement applies and benefits include staff

Qualifications

• Experience leading small teams in a fast-paced retail setting.
• Ability to coach and develop team members for great service.
• Experience with stock, merchandising and basic HR processes is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Own the day-to-day running of the store by leading the team on your shift.
• Motivate, coach, and support your team to deliver great service and efficient operations.
• Work hands-on on the shop floor and tills, supporting daily operations and setting the pace for a team of Customer Team Members.
• Support store performance through merchandising, stock accuracy, and HR processes.
• Champion Co-op through community engagement and membership growth.
