Job summary

Yorkshire Trading Company is seeking a Retail Store Supervisor for the Barnard Castle store. This part-time role covers 32 hours over four days, with weekend rota work and pro-rata annual leave. You will support in-store operations and customer service.

You will assist the store manager, supervise colleagues, manage stock and displays, and ensure pricing accuracy while delivering friendly service at all times. The role requires flexibility and a team-driven approach.

Qualifications

• Experience in delivering high-quality customer service.
• Previous supervisory or team-leading responsibility.
• Accurate cash handling and tills reconciliation.
• Experience with stock replenishment and merchandising.
• Strong communication and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Assist the store manager with day-to-day operations.
• Deputise for the Store Manager when required.
• Train and support retail colleagues on floor operations.
• Maintain displays, stock rotation and product put away.
• Ensure pricing accuracy and keep up-to-date with promotions.
• Handle customer questions, complaints and enquiries.
• Direct customers to racks and counters, delivering great service.
• Contribute to team goals and complete related tasks.
• Cashing up duties as required.

Yorkshire Trading Company, are a growing family owned run business with 38 stores throughout Yorkshire, Lincolnshire & the North East; a busy ecommerce operation and Outdoor Events teams who trade nationwide.

We have an opportunity for a Retail Store Supervisor to join the team in our Barnard Castle Store.

The position is based on:

• - 32 Hours over 4 days, to include some weekends on a rota basis

The ideal candidate would benefit from being flexible as additional hours may be required at busy times

Duties to include but are not limited to:

• - To assist the store manager in the day to day running of the store
• - Deputise in the absence of the Store Manager (key holder)
• - Support in the management and training of retail colleagues, including cashiers and the replenishment team working on the shop floor.
• - Work on store displays / stock rotation and put away
• - Keep up-to-date with all of our products, services and promotions.
• - Handle customer questions, complaints, and issues
• - Direct customers by escorting them to racks and counters suggesting items, delivering great, traditional customer service
• - Contributes to the team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
• - Cashing up duties as and when required
• - Ensure pricing is correct.
