Job summary

James-Hall- in Bishop Auckland is seeking a part-time Supervisor to lead our SPAR store and Post Office services. You’ll motivate the team, deliver friendly customer service, manage day-to-day operations, and ensure cash handling and security procedures are followed.

You’ll support the Store Manager in delivering a safe, efficient shopping and postal experience, oversee stock, audits, and administrative records, and work flexibly to meet the needs of a busy retail environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in retail and/or Post Office services.
• Ability to supervise a team and delegate tasks.
• Strong numeracy skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent customer service and communication.

Responsibilities

• Lead and motivate the team to deliver outstanding customer service across retail and Post Office.
• Take responsibility in absence of Store Manager and/or Assistant Manager.
• Maintain store and Post Office standards including health, safety, hygiene and security.
• Support Post Office services: postage, payments, banking, and other products.
• Operate tills, handle cash securely, and reconcile transactions.
• Update audits and store procedures.
