Job summary

Family Dollar is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, customer service and team development. You will assist with daily functions, help customers, and ensure merchandise flow from delivery to sales floor while maintaining store standards.

The role involves training Store Associates, upholding safety policies, and ensuring a positive environment for customers and staff. This full-time position offers growth within retail management and participation in store-wide

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs and perform physical duties (standing, walking, lifting).
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment.
• Exceptional customer service, organizational, and communication skills required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions/concerns.
• Organize and transfer merchandise from delivery to stockroom and sales floor.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives and store communications.
• Maintain promotional fixtures and displays for effectiveness.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged goods, payroll/scheduling, cash handling, and loss prevention.
• Maintain a well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom to company standards.
• Protect and secure all store assets, including cash.
• Follow safety policies and procedures and ensure staff compliance.
• Help Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
• Maintain a positive, safe, and respectful environment with customers and staff.
• Keep store clean, restocked bathrooms, floors, trash disposal, and neat areas.
• Other duties as assigned.
