The Works Stores Ltd. in Clydebank is seeking a Retail Store Manager to lead and develop the store team, drive commercial performance and ensure a welcoming, well-run shopping environment.

You will own all aspects of store operations, from people and performance to standards and service. Your mission is to deliver exceptional service, spark conversations, and help customers with their shopping missions—whether discovering new products or finding perfect gifts.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in a retail management role.
• Strong leadership and people development skills.
• Commercial mindset with a track record of delivering results.
• Excellent communication, planning and organisation.
• Confident using data to inform decisions and improve performance.
• Flexible and resilient, adapting to changing priorities.
• Experience in high-volume or value retail environments.
• Familiar with retail systems and reporting tools.
• Experience recruiting, training and evaluating performance.
• Tech-savvy with back-office systems and EPOS tills.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach and develop your team to deliver excellent customer service and meet store targets.
• Set an example as a brand ambassador representing The Works.
• Own store performance using data and insights to drive results.
• Maintain high standards of visual merchandising, stock and presentation.
• Recruit, onboard and train new team members to build a high-performing team.
• Manage rotas, payroll and day-to-day operations for smooth running.
• Ensure compliance with health & safety, cash handling and loss prevention.
• Foster an inclusive, supportive team culture with development opportunities.
• Collaborate with Area Manager and central teams to implement initiatives.
