  • Drive sales and achieve key business targets through strong leadership and commercial decision-making.
  • Use performance data and KPIs to understand what’s happening in your store and identify opportunities to improve, including sales, payroll, stock loss, waste and profitability.
  • Recruit, coach and develop your team, helping colleagues build confidence, develop their skills and reach their potential.
  • Set clear expectations, provide regular feedback and tackle performance issues confidently and fairly when needed.
  • Plan rotas and resources effectively, making sure the store is set up to deliver great results while operating within budget.
  • Maintain high standards across merchandising, store presentation, compliance, cash handling, health and safety and company processes.
  • Build strong relationships with Retail Support teams and neighbouring stores, sharing ideas and working together to achieve the best results.
  • Handle customer queries and complaints professionally, turning challenges into positive experiences wherever possible.
  • Champion continuous improvement by looking for smarter, more effective ways of working.
  • Make sure company systems and processes are followed accurately and consistently.
  • Be a true ambassador for the Ryman brand and our values, inspiring your team through your own actions and leadership.
What you’ll bring

  • A genuine passion for delivering outstanding customer service.
  • Strong commercial awareness and confidence using performance data to make informed decisions.
  • The ability to motivate, coach and develop colleagues, helping them reach their full potential.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • A proactive mindset, with the confidence to make decisions, take ownership and solve problems.
  • The ability to juggle competing priorities while keeping standards high.
  • Flexibility and resilience – you’ll be comfortable working in a busy environment where every day brings something different.
  • A positive and collaborative approach to leadership.
  • A hands-on attitude and the ability to lead from the shop floor.
  • Most importantly, the ambition to take ownership, develop your people and make your store a great place to work and shop.
What’s in it for you?
  • Competitive salary with the opportunity to earn company bonus, company pension (with enhancement options), and a referral scheme.
  • Generous holiday allowance plus an extra wellbeing day to recharge.
  • Tailored training, structured career progression, and funded apprenticeship programmes.
