Job summary

The Works Stores Ltd is seeking an experienced Store Manager to lead a team, drive sales, and create a welcoming shopping experience across our stores. You will coach staff, manage stock and merchandising, and ensure exceptional service daily.

You will be responsible for people development, store operations, and using data to improve performance, while upholding our brand values and delivering brilliant conversations with customers.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in a retail management role.
• Strong leadership and people development skills.
• Commercially focused with a track record of delivering results.
• Excellent communication, planning, and organisational abilities.
• Confident using data to inform decisions and improve performance.
• Flexible, resilient, and able to adapt to changing priorities.
• Experience in a high-volume or value retail environment.
• Familiarity with retail systems and reporting tools.
• Experience managing recruitment, training, and performance processes.
• Tech savvy with using back‑office systems, EPoS tills, emails and video calls.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop team to deliver excellent customer service and targets.
• Lead by example as brand ambassador representing The Works.
• Own store performance using data and insights to drive results.
• Maintain high merchandising, stock availability, and presentation standards.
• Recruit, onboard and train new teammates.
• Manage rotas, payroll and operations for daily running.
• Ensure health and safety, cash handling, loss prevention compliance.
• Foster positive, inclusive team culture and development.
• Collaborate with Area Manager and central teams to implement initiatives and share feedback.
