Job summary

Toolstation Limited in Barking is offering a Store Apprentice role working 20 hours per week. The apprenticeship provides hands-on experience in customer service, product knowledge, merchandising, business operations and safety procedures.

You will learn on the job while balancing coursework with weekly guidance from your Store Manager and an apprenticeship coach. No retail experience is required; a positive attitude and willingness to learn are valued.

What you’ll do

Store Apprentice in Barking

20 hours per week

We are looking for candidates who live locally and can easily commute to our store. We are unable to accept those already in or planning to join Government funded study.

Our stores are open from 7 AM to 8 PM, so you must be able to manage early starts and late finishes.

We are unable to consider you if you are already in, or planning to be in any other form of Government paid education.

• Engage with customers: Understand their needs and provide excellent service through genuine conversations.
• Get involved in store operations: Handle deliveries, stock shelves, and assist with warehouse tasks – be prepared to roll up your sleeves! There’s a real family feel here and we all pitch in as part of a close‑knit team. And since there’s always loads of support from those around you, you’ll never feel like you’re struggling.
• Keep things running smoothly: Maintain a clean and well‑organised store, ensuring everything is ready for our customers and safe for our colleagues.
• Learn while working: Set aside time each week to complete coursework, supported by your Store Manager and a dedicated apprenticeship coach.
