Job summary

Anglian Water Storage Point Scientist role within the Quality, Environment and Assurance team focuses on ensuring the optimum quality of water from storage points and mitigating risks ahead of time. The role blends on-site work with data-driven oversight to deliver wholesome water for customers.

You will collaborate with operational colleagues, interpret data, and implement water quality action plans while contributing to DWSP Risk Portal updates and regulatory reporting.

Qualifications

• Educated to a degree level in a relevant scientific subject or equivalent.
• Able to critically evaluate information to take tactical action.
• Excellent data interpretation skills.
• Interpersonal skills to build rapport with operational colleagues and communicate actions clearly.
• Able to mentor those around you to improve understanding of water processes.
• Able to influence decisions to protect wholesomeness of water.

Responsibilities

• Undertake onsite water quality investigations and input information into the DWSP Risk Portal and regulatory reports.
• Support drinking water quality aspects of reporting associated with storage point legal instruments.
• Deliver the scientific aspects of storage point maintenance programmes such as the storage point cleaning programme.
• Optimsie assets to provide effective storage of water.
• Be the key point of contact for local operational teams for water quality risk assessment and sign off of material in contact with water.
• Provide out of hours scientific standby cover and advice on assets.
• Pursue chartership and/or CPD programmes.
