Job summary

British Heart Foundation in Straiton is seeking a Warehouse Assistant to join our busy furniture store. This full-time role (35 hours) covers seven days per week, with weekend and bank holiday shifts as part of a rotating schedule. You’ll support donations processing, stock control, and a safe, efficient retail operation.

Ideal candidates are practical, team-oriented and ready to handle physical duties, while contributing to our life-saving cardiovascular research.”

Qualifications

• Previous retail experience isn’t essential.
• Confident working within a team and able to guide the activity of volunteers.
• Able to work under pressure and use initiative in a fast-paced environment.
• Attention to detail in everything you do.
• Comfortable with hands-on manual work involving moving large items/stock.

Responsibilities

• Organising donated items and preparing them for sale / handling and moving deliveries in store.
• Ensuring the shop floor is well stocked.
• Working in line with safety regulations and promoting health, safety and wellbeing.
• Identifying unsaleable donations for recycling.
• Keeping the stockroom organised and tidy.
• Note: role can be physical demanding with moving bags and large furniture.
