Job summary

Live 2 Help recruitment seeks a proactive Stock Stores Controller in Telford to keep stock flowing to a busy manufacturing team. The role covers receiving, storing, issuing components and coordinating purchasing with suppliers.

You will handle stock checks, discrepancies, and ensure accurate stock data while liaising with engineering and workshop teams. Forklift experience and a full UK driving licence are required.

Qualifications

• GCSE Maths and English at grade C or above.
• Experience in stores or warehouse roles is preferred.
• Experience in purchasing or supplier communications is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Raise, expediting and manage purchase orders and supplier communications.
• Staff the stores counter, receive deliveries, and locate stock.
• Pick and issue components to the workshop and manage shortages.
• Prepare returns and manage non-conforming or incorrect deliveries.
• Maintain stock data, stock levels and replenishment orders.
• Arrange inbound/outbound transport within the UK and abroad.
• Ensure accuracy of stock records and generate stock reports.
• Operate a forklift for material handling and store duties.

## Stock Stores ControllerTelfordA hands-on Stock Stores Controller is needed in Telford to keep stock flowing smoothly to a busy manufacturing team. If you have stores or warehouse experience and a proactive attitude, we want to hear from you.### About the roleOur client is looking for a Stock Stores Controller to join their team in Telford, reporting to the Head of Procurement. This is a varied, hands-on role at the heart of the business's supply chain, responsible for ensuring stock is accurately received, controlled and made available to the manufacturing team. You will work across stores and workshop areas, handling everything from day-to-day storekeeping to purchasing duties and supplier communications.### What you will do* Raising, expediting and managing purchase orders, and maintaining supplier communications and relations* Staffing the stores counter, receiving, booking in and locating deliveries* Picking and issuing components, actioning workshop shortages and stock requirements* Preparing returns and parcels for dispatch, and managing non-conforming or incorrectly delivered items* Maintaining consumable stock control and raising replenishment orders* Maintaining surplus stock records and storage, including service surplus stock* Performing stock checks and investigating and resolving discrepancies* Arranging inbound and outbound transportation of consignments within the UK and overseas* Ensuring integrity of stock data and producing stock and department reports as required* Maintaining stocktree pricing records for consumables and other parts as required* Managing procurement aspects of the test equipment calibration process* Operating a forklift truck for material handling* Liaising with engineering, workshop and other internal teams to ensure an efficient service* Clearing job shelves and handling leftover stock to maximise returns* Replenishing workshop consumables storage areas* Keeping stores and workshop office areas clean and tidy* Adhering to company quality and health and safety procedures* Contributing to business improvement projects to enhance functional procedures* Supporting the Head of Procurement with additional duties as required### What we are looking for* GCSE grade C or above (or equivalent) in Maths and English* Computer literate in Word and email; intermediate Excel skills* Experience in a stores or warehouse role* Experience in a purchasing role* Full UK driving licence* Forklift truck experience* Ability to manually handle parcels of up to 30kg using correct manual handling practices* Diligent and methodical with strong attention to detail and accuracy* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal* Confident, proactive and well organised* Strong team player with the ability to work on own initiative* Good problem-solving skills with situational adaptability* Enthusiastic, reliable and hands-on attitude### What is on offer* Manual handling training provided
