Job summary

Arriva Bus UK at Telford Bus Garage is seeking an organised Stores Person to manage stock and supplies on site. You’ll receive materials, reconcile with POs, and keep the inventory system accurate to ensure timely availability.

Key tasks include maintaining min/max stock, recording receipts and returns, creating POs, and coordinating with suppliers. A proactive, detail‑oriented team player who can work independently is ideal.

Qualifications

• Experience in stores/warehouse or stock control role.
• Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
• Familiar with inventory management systems and MS Office.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
• Team player who can work independently with minimal supervision.
• Forklift licence or warehouse qualifications (desirable).

Responsibilities

• Receive all incoming materials, reconcile with PO and check accuracy.
• Track, document, and resolve discrepancies on deliveries.
• Update inventory system with stock totals, receipts, adjustments and returns.
• Manage inventory levels within agreed min/max thresholds.
• Maintain records of goods received, issued or returned.
• Pack, price, label, and arrange returns of stock.
• Rotate stock and coordinate disposal of surpluses or expired items.
• Build and maintain relationships with suppliers.
• Create purchase orders and manage procurement tasks.
• Arrange return shipments for cancelled or damaged goods.

Are you highly organised, detail-oriented, and thrive in a fast-paced environment? We’re looking for a proactive Store person to take charge of stock and supplies at our site – making sure the right parts and materials are in the right place, at the right time.

This is a vital role at the heart of our operation, supporting the team to keep everything moving efficiently and safely.

What you'll be doing:

• Receive all incoming materials, reconcile with purchase orders, and check for accuracy
• Track, document, and resolve any discrepancies on deliveries
• Keep the inventory system up to date with accurate stock totals, receipts, adjustments, and returns
• Manage inventory levels, ensuring supplies remain within agreed minimum and maximum thresholds
• Maintain clear records of all goods received, issued, or returned
• Pack, price, label, and arrange returns of stock as required
• Rotate stock and coordinate the disposal of any surpluses or expired items
• Build and maintain effective relationships with suppliers
• Create purchase orders and manage procurement tasks
• Arrange return shipments for cancelled or damaged goods

What we’re looking for:

• Previous experience in a similar stores, warehouse, or stock control role
• Strong attention to detail and excellent organisational skills
• Comfortable using inventory management systems and Microsoft Office
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines

• Forklift licence or warehouse qualifications (desirable but not essential)
