Job summary

Conquip Engineering Group in Alton seeks a Stock Control Manager to own stock accuracy, manage the hire fleet and oversee operational processes to meet customer demand.

You will lead the Stock Control Administrator, collaborate with Purchasing and Finance, and drive continuous improvement across stock movements, valuations and audits.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of stock accuracy and inventory records; implement stock control procedures.
• Oversee weekly stock takes; investigate discrepancies and implement corrective actions.
• Monitor stock movements, damaged equipment and asset records for traceability.
• Collaborate with Purchasing and Finance to maintain valuations and support procurement decisions.
• Identify opportunities to minimise stockholding, reduce waste and improve efficiency.
• Support internal and external audits to ensure records and processes are compliant.
• Manage additions to the hire fleet; ensure equipment is recorded, allocated and available.
• Coordinate depot and refurbishment scheduling to maximise equipment availability.
• Provide data to support fleet investment and asset utilisation decisions.
• Coordinate disposal of obsolete or surplus equipment.
• Drive process improvements and greater control across stock management.
• Lead and develop Stock Control Administrator; set priorities and deadlines.
