Hyatt Regency London -The Churchill is seeking a proactive Kitchen Porter/Steward to lead the stewarding team, ensure spotless hygiene and smooth dishwashing operations. You will coordinate shifts, monitor productivity, and support deliveries while maintaining rigorous health and safety standards.

Previous supervisory or team-lead experience in a hotel environment is preferred. A strong attention to detail and a collaborative work ethic are essential for supporting busy service periods.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise the stewarding team, ensuring high standards of cleanliness,organisation, and efficiency across all kitchen areas.
• Oversee the cleaning and sanitation of kitchen equipment, utensils, and work surfaces, maintaining strict hygiene standards at all times.
• Ensure the smooth operation of dishwashing areas, including correct use and maintenance of equipment.
• Support the coordination of shifts, task allocation, and team productivity during service.
• Assist with receiving, storing, andorganisingdeliveries, ensuring proper stock rotation and storage practices.
• Monitor waste management and recycling processes, ensuring compliance with hygiene, safety, and sustainability standards.
• Train, coach, and support team members, fostering a positive and collaborative working environment.
• Work closely with chefs and kitchen teams to ensure seamless operations during busy service periods.
• Ensure full compliance with health & safety, food hygiene, and company standards at all times.

A strong attention to detail, a good understanding of health, safety and hygiene regulations, and a positive, reliable approach to work are essential. The successful candidate will enjoy working as part of a team and supporting the smooth day-to-day operation of the kitchen.

Previous experience in a Kitchen Porter or Stewarding role is required, whilst supervisory or team leadership experience within a hotel environment would be preferred.
