Job summary

Circle Health Group Decontamination in Stockport is seeking a Sterile Services Technician on a bank basis to provide a first-class decontamination service for operating theatres and clinical departments. You will assist with decontamination, packing, sterilisation and delivery of medical equipment, while maintaining strong customer relations and health and safety practices.

The role requires willingness to learn, ability to work in a team, and Hepatitis B immunisation.

Responsibilities

• Provide a first-class decontamination sterile service to Operating Theatres and clinical departments.
• Assist in the provision of decontamination, checking, assembly, packing, sterilisation and delivery of medical equipment.
• Maintain good working relationships with customers and promote Health & Safety within the department.
• Ensure all equipment is maintained to the required safety standards and report any faults.
• Assist Team Leaders in liaising with departments to ensure a steady supply of items.
• comply with all relevant mandatory training.
• Maintain Health & Safety requirements for staff and visitors.

Sterile Services Technician (Bank)

Salary: Up to £13.18 per hour (depending on level of experience, training and qualification)

Circle Health Group Decontamination is responsible for the provision of sterile equipment and instrumentation for use in surgical and interventional procedures in hospitals across England and Glasgow. The unit operates 24 hours a day/7 days a week with rotating shifts covering days and nights as required.

We have an opportunity for a Sterile Services Technician to join their team of staff in theDecontaminationdepartment.

This is a bank role working on an “as and when required” basis, you will be required to supplement staffing levels during busy periods and provide cover for existing staff in times of annual leave or absence.

Duties of this role include:

You provide a first-class decontamination sterile service to the Operating Theatres, clinical departments and relevant paramedical departments.

You assist in the provision of decontamination, checking, assembly, packing, sterilisation and delivery of medical and surgical equipment and sundry items to/for the customer.

You maintain good working relationships with all customers.

You promote and maintain Health & Safety within the department.

You ensure all equipment is maintained to the required standard of safety, reporting any faults to Team leader/Manager.

You assist the Team Leaders in liaising with departments to ensure supply of items is maintained.

You maintain the accepted Health & Safety requirements for the protection of staff and visitors.

You comply with all relevant mandatory training.
