Job summary

The Princess Grace Hospital in London is recruiting a Sterile Services Technician to join our CSSD team. You will ensure a comprehensive service of sterile instrument sets and singularly packed instruments for patients in theatres and departments at The Princess Grace Hospital.

Experience in sterile services, infection control adherence, and strong attention to detail are required. This permanent full-time role offers 37.5 hours per week with 13-hour shifts and a benefits package including

Responsibilities

• Receipt of used medical devices in the decontamination area.
• Inspect, assemble, pack and sterilise medical devices per hospital policies.
• Adhere to the Quality System as the base for Departmental Accreditation.
• Repack instrument trays as necessary.
• Monitor output to ensure complete sterilisation and complete trays.

Sterile Services Technician

The Princess Grace Hospital, London

Full Time, 37.5 hrs/week

13hr shifts (7am to 8pm during the week and Saturdays 8am to 6pm), working 6 on 7 off

We have an exciting role for a Sterile Services Technician to join our team at The Princess Grace Hospital. You will be responsible for providing a comprehensive service of sterile instrument sets and singularly packed instruments for the treatment of patients in theatres and departments located at The Princess Grace Hospital.

In your role as a Sterile Services Technician you will understand the Infection Control requirements in relation to patient care and medical devices.

What you’ll do:

• Receipt of used medical devices in the decontamination area from all users of the service
• Inspect, assemble, pack and sterilise medical devices in line with the hospital policies
• Always adhere to the Quality System in operation which is the base for the Departmental Accreditation
• Repack instrument trays as necessary
• Monitor output to ensure sterilisation is complete and that standard trays are complete with all instruments present

What you’ll bring:

• Experience working in a sterile services department
• Knowledge of relevant hospital policies and procedures either within the NHS or private hospital setting
• Health and Safety training including Lifting and Handling training
• A real team player who has excellent communication, attention to detail and the ability to recognise and report faults in equipment
