Job summary

Circle Health Group Decontamination is seeking a Sterile Services Technician to join the Decontamination department. The role is full-time, 37.5 hours per week, with a flexible day and night shift pattern.

You will carry out cleaning, sterilising and dispatch of reusable surgical devices, maintain batch traceability records, and work with colleagues to meet service deadlines while following SOPs and infection control standards. Commitment to training and development is essential for this role.

Responsibilities

• Carry out all stages of the decontamination process including cleaning, checking, assembling, packing, sterilising, and dispatching reusable surgical and medical devices.
• Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure all items meet required infection control and quality standards.
• Maintain accurate records of all processes undertaken, including batch and load traceability data, in line with departmental documentation requirements.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure effective team performance and meet service deadlines.
• Participate in all mandatory training and professional development required for the role. Willingness to learn and undertake training in sterile services practices and equipment use.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Strong attention to detail, with the ability to follow procedures precisely.
• Flexibility to work variable hours, including weekends, evenings, and shifts as needed.
• Commitment to delivering safe, high-quality, and reliable sterile services.
• Good communication skills and a professional, respectful approach to others.
• Full compliance with mandatory training and health screening, including Hepatitis B immunisation

Role Overview

Circle Health Group Decontamination is responsible for the provision of sterile equipment and instrumentation for use in surgical and interventional procedures in hospitals across England and Glasgow. The unit operates 24 hours a day/7 days a week with rotating shifts covering days and nights as required. We have an opportunity for an Sterile Services Technician to join their team of staff in the Decontamination department. This is a full time role for 37.5 hours a week. The role holder will be required to cover a flexible shift pattern. This includes day shift and night shift. Duties of this role include:
