Job summary

HCA UK is offering a Senior Pharmacy Technician role within the Patient Services team at UCH in Central London. You will work with the Lead Technician and Lead Pharmacists across haemato-oncology services, supporting dispensary operations, stock control and medicines distribution.

The role involves training and mentoring Technicians and Pre-registration Trainee Pharmacists, contributing to KPIs and Quality Improvement Projects.

Qualifications

• Registered Pharmacy Technician with GPhC.
• Accredited Checking Technician (ACPT qualification).
• Prior hospital pharmacy experience required.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and manage the dispensary operations.
• Oversee stock control and inventory management.
• Oversee medicines distribution and Omnicell automated dispensing cabinets.
• Provide training and mentorship to Pharmacy Technicians, Assistants and Pre-registration Trainee Pharmacy Technicians.

Location: HCA at UCH, Central London
Hours: Full-time, 37.5 hours per week Monday-Friday with contribution to weekend and bank holiday shifts on a rota basis
Contract Type: Permanent
Salary: Competitive Depending on Experience (with excellent benefits)

We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Pharmacy Technician to join our Patient Services team at our HCA at UCH Grafton Way Building and Macmillan Cancer Centre. Based in London’s medical district, our hospital is accessible and is considered an employer of choice.

As a key member of the Pharmacy Team, the Senior Pharmacy Technician will work with the Lead Technician for Patient Services and the Lead Pharmacist(s) for Haematology & Oncology across all aspects of the core pharmacy operations, which includes dispensary supervision and management, stock control, inventory management, medicines distribution and Automated Dispensing cabinets (Omnicell).

You will be involved in the continuous service and professional development, audit and monitoring of key performance indicators (KPIs). You will also be a key stakeholder for relevant Quality Improvement Project(s) (QIPs)
You will be integral in providing training, education and mentorship to Pharmacy Technicians, Assistants and Pre-registration Trainee Pharmacy Technicians (PTPT’s).
