Job summary

Job description

This Sterile Services Assistant post sits in the Sterile Services Department at Peterborough City Hospital, North West Anglia NHS Foundation Trust. The work is decontaminating surgical instrument sets and flexible endoscopes for Trust clinicians and external customers, with no patient contact. It is physical, involving heavy lifting, chemicals and machinery, in a department open from early morning to evening with weekend cover. Priority goes to staff at risk through redeployment.

• Previous experience working to deadlines to meet customer needs
• Experience in a production-based role
• Experience in a similar manual handling role
• Previous roles that included standing for long periods
