Job summary

The North West Anglia NHS Foundation Trust invites applications for a Sterile Services Assistant at Peterborough City Hospital. The role involves decontaminating surgical instrument sets and flexible endoscopes for Trust staff and external customers, with no patient contact.

Work is physical, with heavy lifting, chemicals and machinery, in a department open from early morning to evening with weekend cover. Training is provided on decontamination guidelines and ISO 13485:2016 quality systems.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Decontaminate surgical instrument sets and flexible endoscopes for Trust clinicians and external customers.
• Carry out manual handling, including heavy lifting.
• Work with chemicals and machinery, with exposure to blood and bodily fluids.
• Cover shifts across early, late and weekend hours to meet changing service demand.
• Work as part of a team or independently and unsupervised.
