Job summary

East Lancashire Hospitals NHS Trust is recruiting for a Decontamination Technician. You will decontaminate reusable medical devices and ensure they are dismantled, cleaned, reassembled, and checked before sterilization.

You will record items on the track & trace system and distribute sterile instrumentation to wards and clinics. You will rotate stock and instrument sets to prevent expiry and maintain accurate paperwork such as delivery notes and checklists, supporting hospital-wide sterile

Qualifications

• GCSE level education or equivalent is required.
• Basic Hygiene qualification is expected.
• Decontamination qualification is required for the role.

Responsibilities

• Decontaminate reusable medical devices to required standards.
• Collect dirty instrumentation and distribute sterile items to wards and clinics.
• Rotate stock, sets and instrumentation to limit expiry and track via the system.
• Input data to create checklists, labels and delivery notes in the track & trace system.
