Job summary

Cheshire East Council is seeking a Step-Forward Foster Carer to provide a safe, stable home for a child or sibling group transitioning from residential care. The role offers £1,000 per week (£52,000 per annum) with a 50% retainer prior to placement, plus ongoing support and training.

As a foster carer, you will work closely with social workers and therapists to support emotional and behavioural development, while ensuring continuity with family and community.

Qualifications

• Ability to provide full-time care for a child or children in your home (at least one carer must be present on a full-time basis if applying as a couple).
• Willingness to undergo specialist training and supervision.

Responsibilities

• Provide full-time care for a child or sibling group moving from residential care.
• Offer stability, routine, and reassurance within a nurturing home.
• Support the child's emotional, behavioural and social development.
• Collaborate with social workers, therapists and other professionals.
• Maintain clear records and provide therapeutic, relationship-based care.
• Support family relationships through Family Time.
