Qualifications

  • Valid QTS or QTLS equivalent and Active state/regional teaching certification in single-subject STEM or general education endorsement.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or related science.
  • Prior UK teaching experience of at least 3 months with a reputable organisation/school.
  • Understanding of Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSIE).

Responsibilities

  • Classroom & Lab Instruction - Facilitate hands‑on experiments while enforcing safety protocols.

Job Title: STEM Teacher

Location: Romford, Greater London

Part-Time / Temporary / Temp to Perm

Salary: TBD

A STEM Teacher (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) plans and delivers interdisciplinary, hands‑on instruction to prepare students for modern technical and analytical challenges. Unlike traditional single‑subject instruction, STEM teachers emphasize project‑based learning, problem‑solving, real‑world application, and inquiry‑based discovery. Can handle Year 7-10 students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Curriculum & Lesson Development - Design and implement cross-disciplinary curricula aligned with state or national standards
  • Classroom & Lab Instruction - Facilitate hands‑on experiments while enforcing safety protocols for laboratory tools, machinery, materials, and digital environments.
  • Assessment & Student Support - Evaluate student growth using dynamic rubrics, project demonstrations, and traditional assessments. Track individual learning data to adapt instruction and provide extra assistance.
  • Collaboration & Community Engagement - Partner with standard classroom teachers to integrate STEM concepts across other subjects. Communicate regularly with parents regarding student progress and project outcomes.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Valid QTS or QTLS equivalent and Active state/regional teaching certification in single-subject STEM or general education endorsement.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related physical or natural science.
  • Prior teaching experience of atleast 3 months in the UK with an esteemed organisation/ school
  • Understanding of the Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSIE)
