Job summary

Tom Orange Recruitment Ltd is seeking a General / Straightening Operative to join a busy heavy industry team. You will operate straightening and camber presses, and manage overhead crane and forklift movements to support processing and fabrication.

The role requires a physically fit, detail-oriented candidate with solid English, flexibility for overtime, and a collaborative work style. Permanent contract after probation with day shifts initially.

Qualifications

• Experience with GAG presses and overhead cranes.
• Physically fit for a fast-paced heavy industry environment.
• Willing to work overtime when required.

Responsibilities

• Operate straightening and camber presses.
• Move materials with overhead crane, forklift and side loader.
• Unload stock material for processing/fabrication.
• Load processed and fabricated material.
• Assist in operating the T splitting manual machine.
• Move steel stock around the yard (plates/beams/columns).
• Move materials internally using overhead crane.
• Occasionally use handheld power tools (grinder, drill).
• Maintain yard and workshop housekeeping.
