Job summary

Rotational Mouldings Group Ltd in Bradford is seeking an experienced Steel Fabrication Manager to lead the Bradford steel fabrication operation.

You will manage day-to-day production, coordinate laser cutting, folding, welding, galvanising, painting and the assembly of fabricated metal items, plan workflow and resources, and work with purchasing, quality and sales to deliver projects safely, on time and within budget.

Qualifications

• Proven experience managing a steel fabrication environment.
• Strong practical understanding of fabrication processes, welding and manufacturing techniques, including fabrication design.
• Commercially aware, with ability to costing, estimating and production control.

Responsibilities

• Take day-to-day management and performance of Bradford steel fabrication operation.
• Lead the team to deliver safely, efficiently, on time and within budget.
• Oversee the complete production process including laser cutting, folding, welding, galvanising, painting and the subsequent assembly of fabricated metal items.
• Plan and manage workflow, capacity and resources; monitor productivity, quality and costs; support costing and estimating; and work closely with purchasing, suppliers, quality and sales to ensure projects run smoothly from start to finish.
• Drive continuous improvement across the operation, identifying opportunities to increase efficiency, reduce waste and improve performance, while maintaining exceptional standards of health and safety, quality and housekeeping.

Rotational Mouldings Group Ltd is a well:established manufacturing business operating across three North West sites in Furness Vale, Rochdale and Bradford, specialising in the design and manufacture of high:quality rotationally moulded plastic products. With a long:standing reputation for quality, reliability and innovation, the business continues to invest in its people, facilities and processes. They are now seeking an experienced Steel Fabrication Manager to take responsibility for leading the fabrication operations at their Bradford site.

Reporting directly to the Group Operations Manager, you will take full responsibility for the day:to:day management and performance of the Bradford steel fabrication operation, leading the team to deliver safely, efficiently, on time and within budget. Working across mild steel and stainless:steel fabrication, you will oversee the complete production process including laser cutting, folding, welding, galvanising, painting and the subsequent assembly of fabricated metal items. You will plan and manage workflow, capacity and resources; monitor productivity, quality and costs; support costing and estimating; and work closely with purchasing, suppliers, quality and sales to ensure projects run smoothly from start to finish. You will also drive continuous improvement across the operation, identifying opportunities to increase efficiency, reduce waste and improve performance, while maintaining exceptional standards of health and safety, quality and housekeeping.

To be shortlisted, you will have proven experience managing a steel fabrication environment and a strong practical understanding of fabrication processes, welding and manufacturing techniques, including fabrication design. You will be commercially aware, comfortable with costing, estimating and production control, and confident reading and interpreting engineering drawings.
