Job summary

Liquid Personnel are currently representing a dedicated Children’s Assessment Social Worker for our client in Portsmouth to join its Children’s Services team. You will undertake statutory assessments of children and families, respond to referrals, assess risks and plan appropriate interventions to safeguard children.

Qualifications

• Social Work England registration is required.
• Recognised Social Work qualification is required.
• Experience in statutory children’s social care is essential.

Responsibilities

• Undertake statutory child and family assessments.
• Respond to referrals and assess levels of need and risk.
• Visit children and families and consider their views.
• Identify safeguarding concerns and take action.
• Work with schools, health professionals, police and partners.
• Develop plans and recommendations from assessments.
• Prepare clear reports and maintain case records.
• Manage a caseload and meet statutory timescales.
• Promote child-centred and strengths-based social work.
• Ensure children’s safety, welfare and best interests.
